Objectives:
At the end of this course, the student will know how to:
• Define stress and recognize the main sources of stress that preschool-aged children face.
• Recognize manifestations of stress in children.
• Organize her daycare and the activities she offers in a way that reduces the stress children experience.
• Adopt intervention strategies that will reduce stressors and help children transition from their home environment to daycare.
A major part of the course (4 hours) will make it possible for the student to expand her knowledge of the educational program in terms of structuring her daycare environment, activity planning, and educational interventions. The two (2) remaining hours will focus on child development.
